THE PHARMACISTS FIGHT BACK ACT NEEDS YOUR VOICE

from our friends at Pharmacists United for Truth & Transparency - truthrx.org

THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE WILL MARKUP HR 6610 THE PHARMACISTS FIGHT BACK ACT THIS WEDNESDAY, JULY 22ND.

This is a HUGE movement forward for a bill we've been working to pass for the last 3 years.

We need as many Congressional Representatives as possible on House Oversight to attend and vote "yes" on HR 6610.

Following markup and a supporting vote by House Oversight, HR 6610 will have opportunities it wouldn't otherwise have to become federal law!

PLEASE CONTACT HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE MEMBERS NOW

PFBA is important to all independent pharmacies and their patients.

Contact your federal legislators now and ask them to support and pass the Pharmacists Fight Back Act. If your Congressperson is on the House Oversight Committee contact is critically important!

WAYS TO CONTACT

  • Send an Email: Use the contact form on your Congressional member's website page or send an email using our advocacy page at PharmacistsFightBack.org.

  • Make a Phone Call: The contact page on every legislator's website includes constituent contact phone numbers. We've included sample phone scripts you can use in our shareable flyer attached here.

  • Tag Them on Social Media: Legislators and their staff actually do pay attention when people are tagging them directly on their social media channels. For a list of House Oversight Committee Members click here.

  • Send a Text: Many Congressional offices now have an option to text your legislator. This is usually found on their website Contact page. If you have a personal relationship with your legislator and/or their staff and can send a text directly - Even Better!

QUICK TALKING POINTS

What does the Pharmacists Fight Back Act in the Federal Employee Health Benefits Plan (H.R. 6610) do?

H.R. 6610 ends anticompetitive PBM practices by:

  1. Shifting to Transparent Pricing: Taking away the ability for PBMs to manipulate drug prices by moving to a market-based index model (NADAC) + 4% + a dispensing fee.

  2. Banning Steering: Prohibiting PBMs from steering to pharmacies they own and from marking drugs up at their own pharmacies.

  3. Eliminating Abusive Fees: Prohibiting PBMs from charging point-of-sale and retroactive fees on non-affiliated retail pharmacies.

  4. Passing Rebates to Patients: Requiring PBMs to share drugmaker discounts with patients at the pharmacy counter, in line with President Trump's efforts in his first term

Thank you for your taking a few minutes to tell our Congressional Delegates how much we need them to support Community Pharmacy.

Together we will make enforceable PBM reform a reality!
